i've been looking for some LOVE earrings so i could wear one in my cartilage piercing. when i found these at target, i was beyond ecstatic (especially because target has this amazing deal going on right now on jewelry- buy one get one 50% off)! so naturally i wanted to post a pic of my new find, and it turned out kind of perfect that i was also wearing my ashley necklace. it's like it was meant to be.

the good & the bad

the bridal party (minus one) finally got a chance to get together! we ate at roman's macaroni grill (where the outfit pictures were taken, "don't mind me, this is for my blog") and put together the save the dates for the wedding. it was an amazing day filled with good company and delicious food. 

on a more negative note, this week is going to be absolutely no fun. i have to work night shift. 12am-10am starting tomorrow! which means that i will be heading to work tonight. which means my sleep cycle will be totally messed up. which means there will be no cuddling with michael. which means that this basically is going to suck.  it's only 4 days, but it's still going to be rough. because of this, i might not post as much this week. i'm expecting to be a zombie, so forgive me.

my problem

i have this problem. you see, my wardrobe thinks i have this real professional, fancy job. and every morning when i'm picking out my outfit for work, all my super cute clothes say, "pick me, pick me." i then have to break their poor little hearts and remind them that i work in a lab. its quite sad. and yes my clothes can talk and have emotions. 

on that note, i wore this blazer to work earlier this week. i took it off, though, once i got there and changed into my steel toe shoes. i was freezing and when asked why i didn't have my jacket on, my response was this: "it doesn't go with these shoes." shoes referring to my steel toes. i seriously crack myself up sometimes.

heaven on earth

i was recently introduced to the old new york deli & bakery, and i seriously cannot get enough of it. it is an amazing new york style deli & bakery (hence the name), where everything is made from scratch. basically heaven on earth. just look at all those sweets!! my "usual" is the early riser breakfast sandwich (bagel, fried egg, turkey sausage, and cheese) and a chai latte. to die for.

breathe

when i first sat down to write this post, i had every intention of going on about my bad day, and how frustrating it can be when you have absolutely no control over a situation. but then i went out and spent some quality time with m, which took my mind off of things. i had a chance to breathe and really think things over. i have amazing people in my life, who love me and offer me strength. i am healthy and young. why am i so upset? "will this matter a year from now?" the answer is no. because when you really look around, this life is pretty much amazing.

fun pair

i almost didn't buy these tights. i just wanted some that were opaque, but my best friend convinced me to purchase a fun pair as well. oh boy am i glad i did! these have changed my whole outlook on tights. in fact, i have worn these fun, flower print ones more than the opaque pair i had initially sought out. they just pull a whole outfit together, and add that extra something. because of this, i will forever have a pair of fun, quirky tights in my wardrobe.
