My Weekend

{Enjoying the setting sun}

This past weekend I had some time to myself while the boyfriend went on a bike ride. I took advantage of this free time and cruised to the mall.  After spending waay too much time/money at Forever21, I realized that I hadn't found what I came looking for-a dress for my graduation party! I went up and down the mall and after failed attempts at finding the perfect dress, I was ready to leave and call it a day. I had tried on so many dresses by this point, I was just completely over it. I was ready to throw in the towel. Then I came across this silky floral coral dress at American Eagle. I hesitated to even try it on because I was exhausted (yes shopping tires me out okay!). But when I put it on, I knew it was the one! It has buttons, pockets (a must) and it ties in to accentuate my waist.

 Now the hunt is on for the perfect heels! I would love something like this....
{BDG Gladiator Heel from Urban- $60}
The night ended with seeing Super 8 with Michael and then once we got home, we shared a bottle of wine.

This weekend was so nice and productive (shopping wise). It's always lovely to spend some quality time with the person you love the most.

Ashley

Flawed and Fabulous Friday!

{Meet Bailey Mae. Her favorite pasttimes are sleeping and getting spoiled.}

Flawed
  • So I'm trying to get hired at Amgen (a biotech company) since they have like amazing benefits (a week off for the Fourth of July HELLO!). I came across this Associate Scientist position (sounds real professional right?) and I see its $33/hr!! I submit my resume and cover letter thinking I got this one in the bag! Nope. I get an email saying the position was already filled before I applied. Talk about bad timing.
  • Waking up a gabillion times in the middle of the night. Worst. Sleep. Ever.
  • Chipping my nails when I just painted them the day before. I hate that!
  • I have a messy messy room that I'm just too lazy to clean up so its just going to have to look like a tornado came through.
  • People watching me run-awkward!
  • I want to take pictures of my daily outfits when we go out (to post here), but feel too silly to ask the boyfriend.
Fabulous
  • We are planning a trip to Vegas for July! I refuse to go after I turn 22, so looks like we're going the weekend before my birthday. Now I can cross it off my summer wish list! Yayyyyy
  • Feeling fabulous after running all week. Even if that does mean waking up early in the morning.
  • A random neighbor praising me for running for exercise. Go me!
  • Michael and I saw Bridesmaids and I about died from laughing! I want to be Kristen Wiig. She is just too cute and funny!
  • Getting my eyebrows waxed after about 4 weeks (yikes!). I love how clean and polished I feel/look afterwards!
  • Bailey being my best friend and shadow now that I'm home more often.
  • I'm eating healthier even if I literally have to stop myself from devouring the-not-so-healthy stuff and it feels sooo good!

Summer Wish List #2

I can finally cross the fedora off my summer wish list! Last night Michael and I went to the Thousand Oaks mall and I came across the cutest black fedora with a brown belted detail. What made it even better was that it was only ten bucks- too perfect to pass up! After posting the last summer wish list, I realized that there are sooo many more things that I should have included that I desperately want. So here it is guys, summer wish list #2!

1. Rebok EasyTone Reenew - $100 Workout shoes that have a pop of color and balance pods for an extra workout win a yes in my book!
2. Ubran Outfitters BDG Tara Classic Blazer - $79 I need a nice blazer!
3. Forever21 Beaded Bangle Set - $7 I used to hate gold, but I've come to actually love it! Love the added turquoise.
4. TOMS Eyewear Classic 301 in Gold/Dusty Rose/Dusty Blue - $145 TOMS has recently released a line of eyewear. With every purchase someone will get medical treatment, prescription glasses or sight saving surgury. Great cause!
5. Target Mossimo Lusa Studded Flip Flops - $15 Most of my sandals are from Target. They are so cute and available at a great prices!
6. Treadsence Open Sky Lace Back Dress - $34 My late graduation party is coming up soon and I've been looking for a dress that has something special like this one.

My Love

{Our first picture together. New Year's Eve 2008}

Almost two and a half years ago I was introduced to Michael by a friend. On January 18, 2009 we officially became a couple. Now our two year and five month-iversary is coming up and I couldn't be happier. He is the cheese to my macaroni, the sugar to my coffee, the peanut butter to my jelly...well you get the idea. Michael is the best guy I've ever known hands down, and I am one lucky chick. He is smart, funny, sweet and genuinely real. Like any other couple, we've been through a lot. Yeah, he can be an ass not so nice, but I am just as guilty in that department. It's usually hard to stay mad at him for long. I mean c'mon, just look at that face! He always pulls this buttering-up-act that never fails and I'm back in his arms. Curse that act! We are two very different people, but we love each other- faults and all. I can't wait to have many more anniversaries and month-iversaries with this kid.

Summer Wish List

Even though the weather really hasn't felt like summer as of late, my mind (and body) still recognizes the change of season. Ever since I graduated back in May, I have been full speed ahead into summer, which comprises of enjoying my free time and relaxing. I find myself online shopping browsing daily and finding all sorts of new things that feel like more of a necessity than a want. But reality sets in and rears it's ugly head- I need money! So I've been applying like a mad man to various places. The pressure is on! Here are just a few things I'd love to have this summer!

1. Electra Gypsy 3i Beach Cruiser -$670 I haven't owned a bike since I was like 7. This one would be perfect for me and the pup.
2. Nikkon COOLPIX S9100 - $330 My digital camera now is quite the oldie from like the 10th grade.
3. BDG Linen Fedora - $24 I've been talking myself out of buying one for like months. I should just break down.
4. Forever21 Pebbled Leatherette Bag - $32 Who doesn't love a new bag?
5. Steve Madden BELLAHH - $130 It's about time I own a pair of  heels like these.
6. Summer Vacay to Vegas - I need to go before I turn 22 (gag)
7. Dream Catcher Belly Button Ring - $9 I've been searching forever for this in stores. I just need to order it online already.
8. Topshop White Linen Belted Paperbag Skirt - $70 I wish I didn't have a problem spending this much money on one piece of clothing.

Vintage Romance

When I think of the word vintage, I imagine sweet lovelies from an era not of my own. It is quite intriguing to think that maybe this vintage piece may have meant a great deal to someone, sometime. It may have been a gift for one's self or a for-get-me-not from a sweet love. This is why I have recently picked up an obsession with vintage, whether it be clothing, jewelry or sweet unique items. I have fed this obsession by going to the Pasadena Flea Market on Sundays. Even if I never buy anything, it just sparks something within me. A curiosity maybe. Who owned these things, where did they they come from, and how did they ended up here? It makes me wonder if my dear possessions will become vintage someday, end up in a flea market and in the hands of another. If so, I'd like them to shout out to the passersby, "Hey, I once existed. I lived."
