what are you doing new year's eve?

2011 was a whirlwind of a year. it seem to come and go in a blink of an eye. with this though, came great milestones, like celebrating 2 years of love, graduating college, going to vegas for the first time as a 21-year old, and landing my first real job. i'm so thankful for everything that happened for this past year, but i honestly cannot wait for 2012. big things are going to happen, i just know it.

lately i have been obsessing over high low skirts and sheer blouses, so it only made sense for me to wear them both on christmas. (the day after christmas my friend stephanie and i decided to do some shopping and guess what i bought. surprise surprise, THREE sheer blouses. my goodness.) and of course i had to add a red lip.

besides my obsession, i truly enjoyed my christmas. i was able to spend it with family and a dear friend. it was exactly what i had hoped for...and more!

new year's eve outfit

this new year's eve i plan on rocking some sparkly attire. i recently bought a few items that would meet this requirement- a lace black skirt with some gold glitter and a sequin top. i have about a week and a half to work it all out, and who knows, i just might find the perfect sequin dress. if money wasn't an issue, this is what i think would be the ultimate new year's eve outfit.

it's kind of a funny story is such a feel good movie. it really puts things into perspective- like maybe my problems aren't really that bad, and that i shouldn't live life in fear. sometimes i can get so caught up with my "big" problems that i don't realize that there are far worse things going on in the real world.

this movie has such an inspiring message: you have ability to take control of your life- take that opportunity and live life to it's fullest. so live, "live like it meant something."

knotty or nice

the top knot. the perfect cover up for dirty, day old hair. it works wonders for me when i'm too lazy to wash my hair. i just use a little bit of dry shampoo (i swear by big sexy hair dry shampoo), tie my hair up in a high ponytail, wrap the hair around, secure it and voilà! the result is a lovely top knot. try it; no one will ever know your little secret and there's a good chance you just might feel like a ballerina. this particular day i decided to dress it up a bit by throwing on a ~~black swan~~ feather headband. the top knot worked perfectly with this outfit, enabling me to show off the lovely bow back detail of my lace shirt.

oh and check out that rad tan line on the back of my neck. yikes! and yes, i take pictures at target- it's what i do.

happy monday

love having mondays off. when the rest of the world is working, i pleasantly get to stay in bed as long as i want or choose to lounge around in sweats all day. christmas is right around the corner, and with all the hustle and bustle of the holiday, i'm glad i get some quality time to just unwind.
