2012 has been quite the year! it holds many memorable moments, like making a new best friend, turning 23, moving out and getting an apartment with the boyfriend, traveling to washington d.c. and ny, and getting my first tattoo. it's crazy to think that 2012 is coming to an end. it was spectacular year, but i am quite positive 2013 is gonna kick 2012's little butt.

dear boyfriend,

welcome home! you finally made it back after being across country for which seemed like an eternity. we just spent a nice relaxing day together. it consisted of lots of cuddling and kisses, a (not so healthy) breakfast at denny's, and the hobbit. now we're off to end the night with drinks with some friends. sigh... it feels so good to have you home again. don't ever leave again, otherwise this will happen:

last weekend i found a secret garden (the conejo valley botanical gardens). it's such a magical little garden, with its hidden tea party and butterfly chair. i must go back and explore its untold treasures.

christmas has come and gone, but yet i remain joyous. the holidays have a way of doing that to us, don't they? i still find myself singing carols, and staring ever so proud at my first christmas tree. i will never get tired of this feeling, the feeling of pure delight. it truly IS the happiest time of the year.

i was recently given the opportunity to work at beau-alexis beautique, and i loved every moment of it. i put a display together, pulled outfits, and created a couple posts for their shop blog. ever since i started working at the age of 18, i've always had very serious jobs, from working at an allergist office to a drug manufacturing facility. never had i been employed at a place where i could just have fun and use my creativity. well beau-alexis allowed me to stretch my creative legs, and i actually enjoyed going to work for a change. it really is like they say,

"do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life"

o christmas tree, o christmas tree!

last night we picked out our first christmas tree together. this was his first real christmas tree, and my first christmas tree since i was a little girl. neither one of us had any ornaments, so i had to buy all new ones, but i think our tree turned out pretty much perfect. it's exactly how i wanted it. no rustic theme, or a particular color theme. just the theme of my heart.

i'm a tad late posting this, but i participated in the black friday midnight madness at the thousand oaks mall, where i basically shopped til i dropped...

i had a lovely thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house. the whole gang was there, including miss bailey.    we ate a ton of food, and laughed a lot. it always feels good to be surrounded by family. it warms my soul and fuels my heart. even though i live only 15 minutes away from them, i don't visit as often as i should/would like to. it's about time that i do, because family is one of the most important things in my life and now is as good a time as any.

today is thanksgiving, and i will be spending it with those who mean the most to me. now this holiday happens only once a year, but we should be thankful and appreciative everyday.

this year i am especially thankful for:


my family, friends & boyfriend- nothing is better than the love of those you surround yourself with. without them i wouldn't be who i am today. today and everyday, i am most thankful for them.

my good health & fortune- i am in the prime of my life, fortunately in good health, without any ailments or hardships.

new opportunities- i am lucky enough to have new opportunities come my way that could quite possibly allow me to pursue my passions. and if this doesn't work out, i know my luck will not stop here.

new beginnings- new beginnings are often disguised as painful endings, but new beginnings allow you to start fresh. starting fresh allows you to be who you want to be and become the person you're supposed to become.

i am fully aware that it is middle of novemeber, but to me it is winter, and winter means christmas. christmas! and thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet. i even bought decorations and ornaments (for my first christmas tree on my own) and decked out the apartment with little touches of christmas. what can i say? when my favorite holiday is right around the corner, i can't help but go all out. go big or go home, right?
